Some highlights of my role as a Tech PM at Turing Community Operations are:

• Spearheaded the strategic transition to a new email delivery platform, increasing overall performance by over 30%
  • Undertook a current-state assessment to identify challenges within the existing email platform and strategy.
  • Owned requirements specification, vendor comparison and contract negotiation.
  • Provided the technical expertise and solutioning skillsets to successfully move to the chosen provider.
  • This resulted in better tracking and targeting, significantly higher open, click rates and much better overall email performance.
• Owned all Data Dashboards and Reporting for Turing Community
  • Managed 5+ detailed custom dashboards, so event organizers and executives always have the data they need at their fingertips.
  • Enabled high priority fast-paced executive reporting, solving numerous challenges with data contamination and improper upstream records.
• Drove the transition of Turing Community Signup flow, which comprised the coordination of 2 external partners and Turing Engineering.
  • Managed smooth and timely communication among all stakeholders.
  • Coordinated maintenance windows and took key decisions to reduce impact user impact.

In about a month of joining, I was promoted to a more technical role in the newly formed Operations Team within Turing Community.

• Automated repetitive tasks like downloading event recordings from an external vendor, image/video processing and data ETL, freeing 100+ work-hrs/month.
• Managed external vendor partnerships, during and after onboarding them.
  • Single Point of Contact for all Community platform related queries.
  • Resolved issues faced by various event Organziers reducing outages.
  • Set up ETL pipelines and processes for data ingestion.
  • Liased with Internal Engineering and Product teams to build unified landing pages, better tracking, audience segmentation and more.

As a Founding member of Turing Community, I played a major role in its growth and scaling phases, leveraging my community experience and technical background.

• Ensured smooth Event Planning, Organization and Moderation for 10+ events, like Developer Townhalls, AMAs and Fireside Chats within a month of joining.
• Owned data and reporting, which enabled executives to make informed decisions about event types, reach, success and growth over time.
• Designed NPS and CSAT surveys, and set up processes to benchmark audience engagement and retention.
• Spoke at events like CNNs and Intro to Explainable CV, driving targeted reach.

Managed various technical products and features in a startup atmosphere

• Managed the Computer Vision pipeline for 3 industry-partnered projects.
• Backup and archival of the projects on AWS.

  • Created comprehensive reports on various Crypto and DeFi protocols.
  • Surveyed NLP/CV AI companies identifying marketable business ideas.

Founded a research focussed Lab at SRM IST, run by and for students.

• Encouraged students to participate in Research easing the learning curve.
• Conducted 10+ workshops on research methodology, AI and Technology.
• 25+ papers were produced by our lab in the year 2020.
• 7 of our papers were selected for Research Day 2020, we won 3 gold medals.🥇
• Led the RnD domain, strategized PR, marketing and web/social media outreach.

As Head of RnD, my respnsibilities include

• Brainstorming ideas, guiding students and designing the research methodology.
• Conducting various workshops on research methodology, AI and Technology.
• 7 of our papers were selected in 2020 in various journals and conferences.📜

As an intern at Samsung Research, I worked on devleoping and deploying a handwriting recognition model for Samsung’s edge devices.

• Online Handwriting Recognition for Indic low-resource languages like Bengali, from pen-up pen-down data
• Tested different architectures and features like Bezier curves for improved accuracy and efficient deployment on edge devices.

Research work titled "Prognosis of Microaneurysm and Early Diagnosis System for Non-Proliferative Diabetic Retinopathy using deep Convolutional Neural Network".

• Selected amongst top projects in ExploreML Bootcamp at Google
• ML and Expert System inspired architecture was proposed that could explain the output level as well, aiding doctors.
• Collaboration with UC Davis, funded by IIT Kharagpur and Ministry of Human Resource Development, Govt. of India.

• Amongst the first 50 students piloting Google’s Explore ML program.
• Impacted 1000+ students and faculties in and around Chennai, through numerous workshops and online sessions.
• Covered introductory to advanced topics, from foundational statistics to scalable cloud deployment scenarios.

3566 students from 76 countries completed ~21k tasks with 29 FOSS orgs in 2019.

• Mentored 13-18-year olds in their first steps in Open Source at Google CodeIn with TensorFlow.
• Created quizzes, programming tasks like classification and object detection, focusing on TF2.0
• It was the first time for TensorFlow in GCI and the closing edition of GCI itself.

Having started my FOSS journey through GCI, being a participant for multiple previous years, then serving as a mentor, was really exciting. Here’s the recognition for this initiative.

• Helped plan and conduct workshops, coordinate the technical domain.
• Helped participants break into research, develop methodologies for their experiments and more.

As a deeplearning.ai ambassador, my reposnibilities include

• Raising awareness about ML and Research in that field amongst members of the community
• Conducting numerous workshops on various topics like Statistical Methods, AI in Healthcare, GCP and AWS.

ROBOCON is an Asia-Oceania Robotics Competition organized by Asia Broadcasting Union annually. Being a member of all 3 domains, Coding, Electronics and Mechanical, I did a ton of interesting things here in my freshman year.

• Designed 6-DoF Stewart platform from scratch taking care of Coding and Electronic components, and other projects.
• Designed Image Acquisition and SLAM for Automatic Bot and Drive Control for Manual Robot for AbuRobocon 2018.
• Simulated throwing mechanism of the Automatic Robot using MATLAB and Simulink for dynamic real time control.
